The Benefits of CBD for Kids – Can They Have Our Products?

You’ve probably heard about the various health benefits of CBD. From reducing anxiety to improving sleep, it seems there’s almost nothing that CBD can’t do. So, with so many possible health benefits, you might be wondering—can I give it to my kids?

We understand if you’re a bit cautious about giving CBD to your child. It is, after all, a cannabis compound. The good news is that UNITY's CBD alone can’t induce a high. CBD isn’t responsible for the psychoactive effects of cannabis, another compound called THC is. So long as the CBD you use contains no THC, you don’t have to worry about getting your kids high. 

CBD has shown a range of possible health benefits that children could also experience. 

• Improved sleep - As any parent will tell you, all kids need a good night’s sleep. CBD has shown a lot of promise as a sleep aid, with studies showing that it may be able to improve sleep scores. It may also alleviate the symptoms of sleep disorders like daytime sleepiness and REM sleep behavior (1, 2). 
• Reduced anxiety - Children can suffer from anxiety, too, and CBD may be able to help. Studies have shown that CBD may be effective in reducing anxiety symptoms, with one study showing it was particularly effective in reducing anxiety in teenagers (3). 
• Reduced pain - CBD may be able to help reduce chronic pain like headaches, muscle pain, or arthritis (4). While a lot more research is needed into just how effective CBD might be as a pain-reliever, current research is promising. 

CBD shows a lot of promise as a treatment for many conditions, especially including pain, anxiety, and sleep-related issues. It could prove helpful in improving these conditions in children, but we advise that you consult your child’s doctor before adding UNITY's CBD to their routine, and it’s best to consult your physician if you are pregnant.
